Digital Film Thickness Measurement Gauge

The digital coating thickness gauge measures the thickness of coatings on non-magnetic substrates through magnetic induction or eddy current principles. When the probe contacts the coating, it generates an electrical signal, which is then converted by the processor into a thickness value for display. It is used to detect the thickness of paint, electroplating layers, and other coatings on substrates such as metal and plastic to ensure the quality of the coating application.
Selection
When selecting, confirm the substrate type and coating characteristics: use the eddy current principle for metal substrates and the magnetic induction principle for non-ferromagnetic substrates. Ensure the measurement range covers the coating thickness and the accuracy meets process requirements. The probe size should match the shape of the test piece, and the instrument must be calibrated and maintained. Environmental factors such as temperature may affect the measurement results.

How to choose a laboratory coater? Which one should you buy: wire bar, scraper, or slot die?
This article introduces three methods for selecting laboratory coating machines: wire bar coating is suitable for low-viscosity coatings, offering low cost and simple operation; blade coating is ideal for medium-to-high viscosity slurries or those containing particles, with a wide range of film thickness control; slot-die coating provides the highest precision and is suitable for high-end applications such as electronic films.
