Twin-Groove Scraper Fineness Gauge

The dual-groove fineness gauge measures the maximum particle size in coatings, inks, and other materials by placing the sample in two parallel grooves, using a scraper to level it evenly, and observing the scale line corresponding to the position where particles become visible. It is used for rapid on-site detection of dispersion fineness, controlling grinding processes, and ensuring consistent product quality.
Selection
When selecting, consider matching the viscosity range of the material being tested with the groove depth specifications. For conventional coatings, choose a groove of 0–50 μm, and for high-fineness inks, use a groove of 0–25 μm. Check the wear resistance of the scraper material and the clarity of the scale. For stainless steel scrapers, ensure the blade edge is straight. Verify the metrological verification mark, and ensure the environmental adaptability meets the conditions for laboratory or workshop use.
