Coating Drawdown Bar

The coating rod controls the transfer amount of paint through its precise grooves, forming a wet film of uniform thickness on the substrate surface by scraping. It is used in laboratories to simulate coating processes and, in conjunction with thickness gauges, for testing film thickness and hiding power. It is suitable for quality control and new formulation development in the ink and paint industry.
Selection
When selecting, consider the substrate flatness and match the rod length to the dimensions. Choose the groove depth specification based on the target wet film thickness. Stainless steel material is suitable for most solvent-based coatings, and the circular groove structure ensures uniform coating. Note the numbering rules for rods corresponding to different standards (ISO/ASTM).
