Coating Wire Rod Scraper

The paint wire-wound rod consists of a metal rod wound with stainless steel wire, forming a wet film coating of a fixed thickness by controlling the wire spacing. It is used in laboratories to simulate the coating process and test the leveling, hiding power, and color uniformity of paints. It is suitable for the preparation and quality control of paint and ink films.
Selection
When selecting, consider the wire diameter to determine the coating thickness, with common specifications ranging from 50 to 200 μm. The rod length should match the width of the substrate, and stainless steel is recommended for corrosion resistance. Ensure the wire is evenly wound around the rod without looseness. Select the appropriate gap based on the viscosity of the coating material, opting for a larger gap for high-viscosity coatings. Clean the rod with solvent promptly after use to maintain gap clearance.
