Paper Thickness Gauge

The paper thickness gauge employs a mechanical contact measurement principle, using a fixed pressure to press the measurement head vertically onto the paper sample. The thickness value is directly read from a dial indicator or digital display. It is used to detect the thickness uniformity of materials such as paper and paperboard, and to control product specifications in papermaking production and quality inspection.
Selection
When selecting, consider that the measurement range covers the sample thickness, the accuracy meets the testing standards, and the measurement pressure aligns with material properties. The contact surface should be flat and wear-resistant, with a sturdy and shock-resistant structure. The calibration function ensures data accuracy, and the device should be easy to operate and read. It is suitable for scenarios such as laboratory sampling inspections or continuous monitoring on production lines.

This article explores how to extend the application of an instrument originally used for testing the water absorption capacity of paper to evaluate the dispersibility of tissue paper.
Wet film thickness gauge measures the wet film thickness of varnish.
The wet film thickness gauge is a mechanical tool used to measure the thickness of liquid varnish coatings. It operates by rolling the gauge so that the tips of its teeth contact the substrate and leave marks. The thickness value is then obtained by the operator reading the scale of the first tooth that becomes coated with the varnish.
