Temperature indicating wax

Temperature-indicating wax strips are made of waxy materials with different melting points and are affixed to the surface of equipment. When the temperature reaches the melting point of the wax strip, it melts and changes color, indicating the temperature at that location. They are used to monitor overheating conditions in equipment such as motors and bearings, helping in industrial maintenance to determine whether the temperature exceeds specified limits.
Selection
The selection of temperature-indicating wax strips must match the operating temperature of the tested equipment, and the melting point range of the wax strips should cover the monitoring requirements. Consider the material and cleanliness of the surface to which they will be attached to ensure secure adhesion. Environmental conditions such as humidity and vibration factors should be taken into account as selection criteria. Verify the distinctiveness of the wax strip's color change for easy observation and identification.
