Hard chromium thickness Gauge

The hard chromium thickness gauge utilizes the principles of magnetic induction or eddy current. It measures changes in magnetic resistance or eddy currents by contacting the coating surface with a probe to calculate the thickness. It is used for detecting the thickness of hard chromium coatings on metal substrates and monitoring coating uniformity in surface treatments of mechanical parts and molds.
Selection
When selecting, consider matching the measurement principle to the substrate type: use magnetic induction for ferrous substrates and eddy current for non-ferrous substrates. Choose the probe size based on the workpiece shape, using a small probe for curved surfaces. Check that the measurement range covers common coating thicknesses and the accuracy meets process requirements. Confirm that the instrument has a calibration certificate and is suitable for the environmental conditions of the production site.
