Coating Gloss Gauge

The paint gloss meter measures the intensity of reflected light from the surface of a paint film using a photoelectric sensor, with a 60° angle as the standard for determining specular gloss. It is used to evaluate the reflective properties of surfaces such as paints and plastics, and to monitor appearance quality in applications like automotive painting and furniture coating.
Selection
When selecting, consider a measurement angle range covering 20° to 85°, ensuring the instrument complies with the ISO2813 standard. Choose the corresponding angle based on the glossiness of the sample to be measured: use a 20° angle for high-gloss surfaces and an 85° angle for matte surfaces. Verify the calibration plate certification and measurement repeatability of the instrument.
