Eddy-Current Conductivity Meter

The eddy current conductivity meter operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction. The probe generates an alternating magnetic field, which induces eddy currents in metallic materials. By measuring the impedance changes caused by these eddy currents, the conductivity is calculated. It is used to assess the conductive properties of metallic materials, evaluate the treatment effectiveness of metal substrates in the coatings and inks industry, and monitor the distribution of fillers in the plastics industry.
Selection
Select the probe frequency based on the type and thickness of the material being tested: use high frequency for thin metallic materials and low frequency for thick alloy materials. Consider the measurement range to cover common metal conductivity values. The environment should be protected from strong electromagnetic interference. Portable devices are suitable for on-site inspections, while benchtop devices are ideal for fixed measurements in the laboratory. The probe size should match the curvature of the test surface.
