Benchtop pH Conductivity Meter

The benchtop pH conductivity meter determines pH by measuring the hydrogen ion concentration in a solution using a glass electrode, and it reflects conductivity by detecting the ionic conductivity of the solution with a conductivity cell. It is used to monitor the acidity, alkalinity, and ion content of water, as well as to control reaction conditions and wastewater treatment in the chemical and environmental protection industries.
Selection
When selecting, consider the measurement range and accuracy. A pH range of 0–14 and a conductivity range of 0–200 mS/cm meet routine requirements. Check the electrode material and temperature compensation function, as composite electrodes and automatic temperature compensation enhance stability. Evaluate the calibration method and data storage capabilities, where multi-point calibration and USB output facilitate operation and record-keeping.

When to use three-point calibration versus two-point calibration for pH meters?
The calibration of a pH meter is performed to determine the actual zero potential and slope of the electrode, enabling accurate measurement of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. Two-point calibration is commonly used for daily measurements within a narrow range, while three-point calibration is employed for higher accuracy requirements.
How does the instrument calculate total dissolved solids in water from conductivity?
This article explains how TDS instruments estimate total dissolved solids by measuring the electrical conductivity of water. Since most dissolved solids exist in ionic form, which affects conductivity, there is a correlation between the two.
