Transmission Density Meter

A transmission densitometer measures the optical density value by illuminating transparent or translucent materials with a light source and calculating the ratio of transmitted light intensity to incident light intensity. It is used to detect the light transmission uniformity and coating thickness of materials such as film and membranes, and to control light transmission performance in printing plate-making and film quality inspection.
Selection
The selection of a transmission densitometer should match the transmittance range of the material being tested, with density measurement accuracy meeting industry standards, and consideration should be given to sample size compatibility with the measurement aperture. The instrument must include calibration capabilities and resistance to ambient light interference, feature a user-friendly interface, and support data output in commonly used formats.

How to choose a turbidimeter - starting with the measurement principle.
This article introduces how to select a turbidimeter, starting from the measurement principles. The main principles include the scattered light method, transmitted light method, and scattering-transmission ratio method, each suitable for samples with different concentrations.
Transmittance Tester Measures the Clarity of Optical Films
This article introduces how to use a transmittance tester to measure the clarity of optical films. Clarity refers to the fidelity of imaging after light passes through the film. The tester is based on the principle of light transmission, calculating the clarity value using a formula by measuring the intensity of parallel transmitted light and scattered light.
Haze meter measures light transmission and scattering in agricultural film.
This article introduces how a haze meter measures the light transmittance and the proportion of scattered light in agricultural films. Haze is the percentage of scattered light in the total transmitted light, while light transmittance is the ratio of transmitted light to incident light.
The role of a reflection densitometer in controlling printing ink concentration.
The reflection densitometer measures the light reflectance of the ink layer and converts it into a density value, thereby objectively reflecting the thickness and concentration of the ink layer. In printing, it is used to monitor solid density, ensuring stable ink supply, replacing subjective judgment, and enabling data-driven control.
Which is more accurate for measurement: the scattering method or the transmission method in turbidimeters?
The article compares two methods for measuring turbidity: the scattering method and the transmission method. The choice of method depends on the turbidity range of the sample, particle characteristics, and measurement standards. Both methods have their respective applicable scenarios, and accuracy depends on the actual application conditions.
Density Determination: Selection Strategy between Pycnometer Method and Densimeter Method
This article introduces two methods for measuring the density of substances: the pycnometer method and the densimeter method. The pycnometer method calculates density by measuring the mass of a sample of fixed volume. It is suitable for measuring liquids, powders, and small granular solids, offering high precision but slower operation, and requires temperature control.
