Magnetic Induction Thickness Tester

The magnetic induction thickness gauge uses a probe to generate a magnetic field. When the probe is brought close to a ferromagnetic substrate, the magnetic flux changes, and the coating thickness is determined by converting the measured magnetic reluctance value. It is used for measuring the thickness of non-magnetic coatings such as paint and plastic on metal substrates like steel. This method is applied for on-site rapid inspection in fields such as steel structure corrosion prevention and automotive manufacturing.
Selection
When selecting, consider that the substrate material must be magnetic metals such as steel, the measurement range should cover the thickness of the coating to be tested, the environmental temperature should adapt to on-site conditions, the probe shape should match flat or curved surface measurements, calibration sheets must be compatible, the instrument accuracy should meet process requirements, and it should be portable for outdoor use.
