Eddy current metal coating thickness Gauge

Eddy current metal coating thickness gauges generate a high-frequency electromagnetic field through the probe, inducing eddy currents in the metal substrate. The thickness of the coating alters the eddy current response, and the instrument measures the impedance changes to calculate the thickness. They are used for measuring insulating coatings on non-magnetic metal substrates such as aluminum anodizing and copper foil coatings.
Selection
When selecting, confirm the conductivity of the substrate. Non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper are suitable. Consider the material of the coating; insulating coatings like anodized layers are applicable. Choose a matching probe based on whether the surface is curved or flat, and check whether the instrument's calibration range covers the expected thickness. Note the impact of environmental temperature on measurement stability.
