Adhesive Doctor Blade

The drawdown bar applies liquid onto a substrate with a metal blade to create a uniform wet film. It is used for testing coating thickness and evaluating hiding power in paints and inks. In the laboratory, it is used in conjunction with a wet film applicator to examine product leveling and color difference.
Selection
Choose stainless steel or plastic material based on the hardness of the test substrate. Determine the groove width according to the standard thickness range, and match the blade precision to the sample viscosity. Conventional laboratories typically use dual-groove types, while adjustable scrapers are used for special curved substrates.
