Electro-Magnetic Eddy-Current Coating Thickness Gauge

The eddy current coating thickness gauge generates a high-frequency magnetic field through the probe, inducing eddy currents in the conductive substrate. Variations in coating thickness cause changes in the eddy current intensity, which the instrument uses to calculate the thickness. It is commonly used for measuring the thickness of insulating coatings on non-magnetic metal substrates such as aluminum and copper, and is frequently applied in anodizing and paint film inspection.
Selection
When selecting, confirm the substrate conductivity and match the probe size and curvature. Consider the coating thickness range and accuracy requirements, and calibrate for the influence of ambient temperature. Portable devices are suitable for on-site use, while fixed types are ideal for production lines. Verify the certification of standard samples and the practicality of data interfaces.
