Mechanical Shore hardness Tester

The mechanical Shore durometer measures hardness by vertically pressing a spring-loaded indenter into the material's surface and converting the indentation depth into a hardness value. It is used for rapid hardness testing of soft materials such as rubber and plastics, allowing direct measurement of the hardness of finished or semi-finished products on production lines or in laboratory settings.
Selection
When selecting, consider the hardness of the material to match the scale type: use the A scale for rubber-like materials and the OO scale for ultra-soft materials. Ensure that the indenter travel and spring force comply with standards, and check the perpendicularity between the pressure foot plane and the indenter. For dial-type readings, keep the line of sight perpendicular to the dial; for digital displays, pay attention to the power supply method. Choose an appropriate pressure foot diameter based on the sample thickness, and use a dedicated holder for curved samples.
