Ink Scraper Applicator Rod

The ink drawdown bar is a coating tool made of metal or plastic, featuring evenly spaced spiral grooves on its surface. When the bar is rolled over a substrate, the grooves transfer a precise amount of ink, forming a wet film of specific thickness. It is used for ink opacity testing in the printing industry and for film thickness control in paint laboratories.
Selection
Select the wire diameter based on the surface roughness of the test substrate, using a fine wire diameter for smooth surfaces. Choose the wire winding gap according to the ink viscosity, opting for a larger gap for high viscosity. Match the groove capacity to the target film thickness, taking into account ink flowability and drying speed. The rod material must be resistant to solvent corrosion.
