Platinum-Cobalt Color Scale

The Platinum-Cobalt Colorimetric Card establishes a visual color comparison standard through a series of platinum-cobalt standard solution color scales, used for determining the color of water or transparent liquids. During operation, the sample is compared side by side with the standard color scales to determine the closest color number, enabling semi-quantitative analysis. It is suitable for rapid color detection of transparent liquids such as drinking water and industrial water.
Selection
When selecting, ensure the colorimetric card complies with the current national standard number and its color gradient covers the common detection range. Check that the card shows no fading or damage and that the color indicator boundaries are clear. Choose an appropriate measurement range based on the concentration of daily testing samples, taking into account the impact of ambient lighting conditions on visual interpretation.

The necessity of a standard light source box in visual color comparison and color difference assessment of coatings.
In the production of coatings, accurate color evaluation is crucial. Visual color comparison is easily affected by light, as natural light is unstable, and different lighting conditions can make colors appear different.
Visual color comparison method using colorimetric tubes to determine the color phase of varnish.
Colorimetric tube visual colorimetry is a method used to determine the color hue tendency of varnish samples by directly comparing them with a standard color scale using the human eye. During operation, samples and standard liquid columns should be prepared using colorimetric tubes of consistent specifications under standard lighting conditions, and the hue differences should be observed in parallel.
Operating Specifications for the Determination of Hexavalent Chromium Content in Wastewater Using Colorimetric Titration Apparatus
This article introduces the standard operating procedure for determining hexavalent chromium content in wastewater using a colorimetric titrator. The method is based on the reaction between hexavalent chromium and diphenylcarbazide under acidic conditions to form a purplish-red complex, with the titration endpoint determined by monitoring changes in absorbance at a wavelength of 540 nanometers.

Principle and Application of Whiteness Meter in Measuring Coating Whiteness
A whiteness meter quantifies the whiteness of paint samples by simulating human perception of white, measuring the diffuse reflectance of light—particularly in the blue wavelength range—and converting it into a numerical whiteness value. It employs standardized optical configurations and mathematical models, such as the Ganz formula, to assess the brightness and chromaticity of coatings.
