Overview
LENETA WC-10 Mayer Rods, also known as Wire-wound drawdown bar coating applicator or Mayer Rod, is a laboratory tool for preparing coatings into specific Film thickness films. With a 254mm Spreader width, it is suitable for most standard size baseplates and cardboard.
Features
Wide range of wire diameters: Available in a variety of specifications from 0.064mm to 1.9mm (2.5 to 75mils), corresponding to the preparatory wet film thickness range of 4.5 µm to 150 µm (0.18 to 6mils).
2. Reasonable size design: Spreader width is 254mm (10 inches), the total length of the rod body is 305mm (12 inches), and there are 25mm hand-held parts at both ends for easy operation. The rod body diameter is 12.7mm (1/2 inch), providing good rigidity.
3. Durable material: made of all stainless steel, corrosion-resistant, even in contact with water-based paints will not rust. At the same time, it has nonmagnetic characteristics and can be used with steel plates on magnetic cards.
Principle
Mayer Rods controls the Spreader Film thickness by tightly wound wires (wires) on its surface. As the rod rolls over the sample-coated substrate, the wound wires scrape off excess paint, leaving a uniform and accurate wet-film coating on the substrate corresponding to the wire diameter (wire diameter).
Applications
Coating laboratory testing, inks film formation, coating prepative, quality control, R & D
