Overview
LENETA WC-28 Mayer Rods, also known as Wire-wound drawdown bar coating applicator or Mayer Rod, is a professional tool for preparing coatings into specific Film thickness films. The model WC-28 has a wire diameter of 0.71mm and can prepare wet-film about 50µm (2.0 mil) thick. Spreader width is 254mm, which is suitable for most standard size baseplates and cardboard.
Features
1. Wide range of wire diameters: Available in a variety of specifications from 0.064mm to 1.9mm (2.5 to 75mils), WC-28 models have a wire diameter of 0.71mm.
2. Controllable film Film thickness: It can prepare films with a film thickness of 4.5 µm to 150 µm (0.18 to 6 mils), and the WC-28 model has a film thickness of about 50 µm.
3. Sufficient applicable width: Spreader width is 254mm (10 inches), meeting most standard baseplate requirements.
4. Reasonable structural design: the total length of the rod body is 305mm (12 inches), with 25mm hand-held parts at both ends; the rod diameter is 12.7mm (1/2 inch), providing good rigidity.
5. Durable material: made of all stainless steel, corrosion-resistant, non-rusting, suitable for water-based paints, and nonmagnetic design, can be used with steel plates on magnetic cards.
Principle
Mayer Rods work with precision wires (wires) wound on their surface. When the rod body rolls on the substrate coated with the sample, the wound wires scrape off excess paint, leaving a wet-film coating of uniform thickness on the substrate corresponding to the wire diameter (wire diameter).
Applications
Coating prepative, coating thickness testing, laboratory sample Spreader, quality control, R & D
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. Select Mayer Rods of the appropriate wire diameter (corresponding to the desired film film thickness).
2. Place an appropriate amount of paint on one end of the substrate.
3. Hold the handles at both ends of the coating applicator and roll the coating applicator on the substrate at a stable and uniform speed and pressure to make the coating spread film formation.
4. After the Spreader is completed, clean the coating applicator in time.
Notice
• Please select the appropriate bar type according to the required wet film thickness before use.
• Maintain uniform speed and stable pressure during operation to ensure uniform film Film thickness.
• Thoroughly clean the coating applicator with a suitable solvent immediately after use to prevent residual coating curing.
• Please keep it properly to avoid bumping and damaging the entangled wire.
• This product is made of all stainless steel, but it needs to be cleaned in time after long-term contact with corrosive substances.
