Overview
LENETA WC-75 Mayer Rods, also known as Wire-wound drawdown bar coating applicator or Mayer Rod, is a laboratory tool for preparing coatings to film thickness. This model has a 254mm Spreader width and a premiative wet film thickness of 150µm.
Features
Wide diameter range, covering 0.064mm to 1.9mm (2.5 to 75mils), corresponding to the preparation of 4.5 µm to 150 µm (0.18 to 6mils) film Film thickness.
2. Spreader width is 254mm (10 inches), enough to meet most standard size baseplates and cardboard.
3. The total length of the rod body is 305mm (12 inches), and there are 25mm long hand-held parts at both ends for easy operation.
4. The rod diameter is 12.7mm (1/2 inch), providing good rigidity.
5. Made of all stainless steel, corrosion-resistant, it will not rust even when exposed to water-based paints, and it is nonmagnetic, which can be used with the steel plate on the magnetic card.
Principle
Measurement of paint by Mayer Rods uses wires (wires) that are tightly wound on their surface. When the coating applicator rolls or scrapes uniformly on the substrate, a gap is formed between the wound wires and the substrate, and the paint is filled and passed through the gap, leaving a wet-film coating with uniform Film thickness and wire diameter on the substrate.
Applications
Coating R & D and testing, inks performance evaluation, Adhesive Spreader, laboratory sample prepative, quality control
