Overview
The LENETA ASM-3 Sag resistance tester is a professional test equipment designed according to the ASTM D4400 standard to evaluate the Sag resistance performance of thick film coatings. The instrument uses a descending blade design with a continuous high gap. By measuring the relationship between the notch gap and the degree of sinkage, a value called the anti-sagging index is obtained. The higher the index, the better the sagging performance of the coating. The instrument is an important laboratory equipment in accordance with US LIANBANG Test Method 141 4494 and is widely used in the global coatings industry.
Features
1. According to authoritative standards: strictly follow ASTM D4400 standards and US LIANBANG test method 141 4494.
2. Professional design: using a descending blade structure with a series of continuous high gaps for accurate testing.
3. Quantification results: Provide anti-sagging index, the higher the value, the better the coating Sag resistance performance.
4. Reliable material: made of stainless steel, sturdy and durable.
5. Widely used: It is an important equipment for evaluating the Sag resistance of thick film coatings in coating laboratories at home and abroad.
Principle
The instrument is based on the Working Principle of the ASTM D4400 standard. When testing, the coating sample Spreader is placed on a falling blade with a continuous high clearance. Under the action of gravity, the coating produces flow and sinkage. The instrument calculates the anti-sagging index by measuring the relationship between a specific notch clearance and the degree of coating sinkage. The index is a quantitative indicator that objectively reflects the ability of the coating to resist vertical surface sagging.
Applications
Coating laboratory, paints development and quality control, thick film coating performance evaluation
Standards
ASTM D4400, American LIANBANG Test Method No. 141 4494
Steps
1. Prepare the thick film coating sample to be tested.
2. Spreader the paint evenly on the falling blade of the instrument.
3. Place the instrument vertically to make the coating sag naturally under gravity.
4. After the coating is stabilized, observe and measure the degree of coating sinkage at the notch gap.
5. According to the measurement results, calculate or compare the anti-sagging index of the coating.
Notice
• This instrument is suitable for thick film coatings with film thickness ranging from 350 to 1500 µm.
• Please make sure that the instrument is clean and drying before operation to avoid impurities affecting the test results.
The test environment (e.g. temperature, humidity) should comply with relevant standards to ensure the accuracy of the results.
• Please strictly follow the procedures specified in the ASTM D4400 standard for operation and interpretation of results.
• The instrument should be cleaned in time after use to maintain its accuracy and prolong its service life.
