Overview
Defelsko Positector200 series Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge is an original imported Handheld nondestructive testing instrument. It can be widely used in coating thickness measurement on wood, concrete, plastic, composite, metal and other substrates using ultrasonic principle. The series is divided into standard type and advanced type for different application needs. The advanced type can measure up to 3 layers of independent coating thickness.

Principle
The instrument works based on the principle of ultrasonic thickness measurement. During measurement, Probe emits ultrasonic pulses to the coating, and the pulses reflect at the interface between the coating and the substrate or at the interface of different coatings. The instrument determines the film thickness of the coating by calculating the propagation time of ultrasonic waves in the material.

Steps
1. Apply a coupling agent to the surface of the test object.
2. Press any key to turn it on and place the Probe flat on the surface of the object to be tested.
3. After hearing two "beeps" or the indicator light is on, lift the Probe, and the display screen will display the measurement result. If you need to measure again, you can operate at the same point or in another position with repeability.
4. After the measurement is completed, dry the coupler, put the instrument back in the box, and the host and Probe do not need to be disassembled.
Notice
- Power on: Press any key to turn it on.
- Shut down: The instrument automatically shuts down after 3 minutes of no operation; or manually shuts down by pressing and holding the "-" and "+" keys for at least 5 seconds at the same time.
- Probe zeroing and known Film thickness calibrated before measurement.
- Coupling agents are required for measurement to ensure effective ultrasonic transmission.
- Advanced instruments support multi-layer measurement and graphic output, standard models only measure coating total Film thickness.
