Overview
The LEEB DC Impact Device is an Optional accessory to the Leeb120 and Leeb140 Leeb hardness tester for Hardness measurement of various steel, iron and alloy materials. The device is designed for measurement of the inner surface of holes or cylinders.
Features
Impact energy of 11mJ, Impact device mass of 50g
2. Hardness of ball head up to 1600HV, using tungsten carbide material
3. The diameter of the ball head is 3mm, and the diameter of the Impact device is 20mm.
4. Suitable for measurement holes or cylinder inner surface
5. Maximum Specimen Hardness up to 940HV
Principle
Impact energy generated by the impact device 11mJ, so that the surface of the tungsten carbide Ball Impact specimen formed Cedar, Cedar parameters calculated hardness of materials.
Applications
Steel, cast steel, alloy tool steel, stainless steel, gray cast iron, ductile cast iron, cast aluminum alloy, copper zinc alloy, copper tin alloy (bronze), pure copper
Steps
1. Select the appropriate specimen to ensure that the average surface asperity is less than or equal to 1.6 μm
2. Stable support is required for the weight 2~ 5kg specimen, and dense coupling is required for the 0.05~ 2kg specimen
3. Ensure that the minimum thickness of the specimen is ≥ 5mm, and the minimum depth of the hardened layer is ≥ 0.8mm.
4. Measuring location of Impact Device
5. Conduct Impact Testing and Read Hardness Values
Notice
• The minimum weight of the specimen must be greater than 5kg
• The average surface asperity of the specimen shall not exceed 1.6 μm
• The minimum test thickness of the specimen is 5mm
• Minimum depth of hardened layer should be ≥ 0.8mm
• Specimens of different weight ranges require corresponding support or coupling methods
