Overview
The YINGXU Zahn 2 #Zain Cup is a stainless steel portable viscosity measurement instrument manufactured according to the ASTM D 4212 standard, suitable for quickly determining the consistency of liquids in the field or in the production process, usually used to determine the viscosity of paints or inks.
Features
1. Use high-precision computerized machining for production.
2. Mirror polishing and smooth surface preparation can achieve high flow Accuracy and easy maintenance.
3. Strict mass and compliance checks.
Principle
The Zahn cup calculates the kinematic viscosity of a liquid by measuring the time it takes for a volume of liquid to flow out of a standard flow hole under gravity. The outflow time and viscosity values are converted by the formula V = K (t-c), where V is the kinematic viscosity (cSt), t is the outflow time, and K and c are constants corresponding to the cup number.
Applications
Thin oils, mixed coatings, varnishes
Steps
1. Use a suitable solvent to wipe the cup body clean and dry it before use, and pay special attention to cleaning the small holes in the cup body.
Select the appropriate cup number so that the outflow time is controlled between 20 and 80 seconds.
3. Adjust the filtrated sample and flow cup temperature to (23 degrees plus or minus 0.5 degrees) or another agreed temperature.
4. Insert your finger into the small ring on the handle to quickly and smoothly lift the cup body vertically from the sample to be tested.
5. When the cup body is broken off from the liquid level, pay attention to keep the cup body vertical when the liquid flows out, and the distance from the liquid level should not exceed 150mm.
6. When the first breakpoint stops, the number of seconds of the outflow time indicates a certain viscosity value; the difference between the two test values should be less than 5% of the average value.
7. Convert the outflow time into kinematic viscosity according to the formula V = K (t-c).
8. Immediately clean it with a suitable solvent, never with a metal brush.
9. After drying, store again.
