Overview
The YINGXU Zahn 5 #Zahn Cup is a stainless steel portable viscosity measurement instrument manufactured according to the ASTM D 4212 standard, suitable for quickly determining the consistency of liquids in the field or during production. It is usually used to determine the viscosity of special viscous fluids and mixtures such as paints or inks.
Features
1. Use high-precision computerized machining for production.
2. Mirror polishing and smooth surface preparation can achieve high flow Accuracy and easy maintenance.
3. After strict mass and conformity inspection.
Principle
Zahn Zain cups evaluate viscosity by measuring the time it takes for a given volume of liquid to completely flow out of a standard flow hole under gravity. The flow-out time is linearly related to the kinematic viscosity of the liquid and can be converted by the formula V = K (t-c), where V is the kinematic viscosity (cSt), t is the flow-out time, and K and c are constants corresponding to the cup number.
Applications
Special viscous fluids and mixtures, paints, inks
Steps
1. Use a suitable solvent to wipe the cup clean and dry it before use, and pay special attention to cleaning the flow hole.
2. Select a Zahn 5 #cup to ensure that the outflow time is controlled between 20 and 80 seconds.
3. Adjust the filtrated sample and flow cup temperature to 23 +/- 0.5 ° C or another agreed temperature.
4. Insert your finger into the handle small ring and quickly and smoothly lift the cup body vertically from the sample to be tested.
5. Start timing from the upper edge of the cup away from the liquid level, keep the cup vertical, and the distance from the liquid level does not exceed 150mm.
6. When the first breakpoint of liquid outflow occurs, stop counting and record the outflow time. The difference between the two test values should be less than 5% of the average value.
7. According to the formula V = K (t-c), the outflow time is converted into kinematic viscosity, and the K value of the Zahn 5 #cup is 23 and the c value is 5.0.
8. Immediately clean the cup with a suitable solvent, never with a metal brush.
9. Store after drying.
Notice
• Before and after use, thoroughly clean the cup with a suitable solvent and dry it, paying special attention to cleaning the flow hole.
• When operating, lift the cup body vertically quickly and smoothly, and keep the cup body vertical throughout the outflow process.
• Start timing when the upper edge of the cup leaves the liquid surface, and stop timing when the liquid flows out at the first breakpoint.
• The distance between the cup and the liquid level should not exceed 150mm during measurement.
The difference between the two measurement results should be less than 5% of the average.
• Never use a metal brush when cleaning to avoid damaging the surface of the cup.
• Before measurement, the temperature of the sample and cup should be adjusted and stabilized at the specified temperature (e.g. 23 +/- 0.5 ° C).
