Overview
JFL QXD 0-25 Grindometer (double-channel) is a testing instrument for measuring the Fineness of particles such as Paints, pigments and impurities in paint slurry. It is made of cemented carbide steel with good Abrasion Resistance and hardness, and is not easy to abrasion. The product is made in strict accordance with the relevant Measurement Instrument verification procedures, with a range of 0-25μm. It is used to detect the Fineness of dispersed products during production, storage and application to control product mass.
Features
1. Made of hard alloy steel, wear-resistant and durable.
2. Double-channel design, the number of scraping grooves is 2.
3. The range is 0-25 μm, and the Graduation is 2.5 μm.
4. Make in strict accordance with the "Grindometer" verification procedures.
Principle
The Grindometer fills the groove by placing the sample to be tested at one end of the groove with a precise depth scale and scraping it uniformly along the length of the groove with a matching drawdown blade. Since the groove depth decreases linearly from one end to the other, the particles in the sample will show scratches or particle accumulation at a certain depth position. By reading the scale value corresponding to this position, the maximum fineness of the particles in the sample can be determined.
Applications
Fineness testing and quality control of Paints, Paste and other products during production, storage and application
Standards
GB/T 1724-93、GB/T 13217.3-91
Steps
1. Ensure that the scraper and drawdown blade are clean and drying.
2. Place an appropriate amount of the sample to be tested at the deeper end of the scraper groove.
3. Hold the drawdown blade so that it is perpendicular to the surface of the scraper, and scrape the sample from the deep end of the groove to the shallow end at a uniform speed and appropriate pressure.
4. Immediately after scraping the sample (usually within 3 seconds), observe the position where the particles in the groove are evenly exposed at a suitable angle.
5. Read the scale value corresponding to this position, which is the Fineness reading of the sample.
Notice
• Clean the instrument before use to ensure that there is no residue.
• When scraping the sample, the drawdown blade should be kept vertical, with uniform force and constant speed.
• The reading should be carried out quickly after scraping the sample to avoid sample flow or drying affecting the results.
• After use, the instrument should be cleaned and properly stored.
• Please operate and determine the results according to relevant standards and specifications.
