Overview
The SP1830 Conical Mandrel Tester is an upgraded professional version of the SP1831, a laboratory instrument used to evaluate the cracking and/or disbonding performance of coatings, paints, and varnishes on metal plates under standard conical mandrel bend test conditions. The tapered shape of the curved area allows the test plate to deform on any diameter between 3.1 and 38mm to check the resilience range of the coating, and the sample panel is secured to the device by a quick lever handle that instantly locks and unlocks the panel by hand alone.
Features
1. Made of aluminum alloy and stainless steel, strong and durable
2. Combination structure of anodic oxidation aluminum and stainless steel
3. Equipped with ergonomic clamping devices
4. The large knob on the bending arm can be easily and smoothly bent
5. Quick lever handle can instantly lock and unlock the panel
Principle
Under standard conical mandrel bending test conditions, bending deformation is applied to the metal test plate by conical mandrel, and the test plate deforms on any diameter between 3.1 and 38mm to evaluate the cracking and disbonding performance of the coating during bending, and check the resilience range of the coating.
Applications
Automotive, Coating Industry, Coating Field Laboratory
Standards
ISO 6860、ASTM D522
Steps
1. Place the sample panel on the device
2. Use the fast lever handle to instantly lock the panel
3. Smooth bending operation through the large knob on the bending arm
4. Observe the deformation of the coating in the diameter range of 3.1 to 38mm
5. Evaluate cracking and disbonding performance of coatings
6. Use the quick lever handle to unlock the panel when done
Notice
• The thickness of the test plate should not exceed 0.8mm.
• Ensure that the sample panel size is 100 × 180mm
• Pay attention to safety during operation to avoid pinching
• Regularly check whether all parts of the equipment are normal
Operate according to standard test conditions
