Overview
The ERICHSEN 295/I Adhesion Tester is a professional lacquered cross-cut testing device composed of a plastic handle and an adjustable stainless steel cutter head, capable of meeting a wide range of cross-cut testing standards. The instrument is fully equipped with a nylon brush, 2.5 times magnifying glass, and is stored in a sturdy plastic carrying case with manufacturer's certificate M.
Features
1. The cutter head position can be adjusted to the operator's most comfortable position
2. Different types of cutter heads and adhesive tapes according to EN ISO 2409 are available
3. Fully furnished, including nylon brush and 2.5x magnifying glass
4. Adopt stainless steel cutter head and plastic handle for strong durability
5. Equipped with a sturdy plastic carrying case for easy portability and storage
Principle
The adhesion performance between the coating and the substrate is evaluated by drawing a grid pattern with a specific spacing on the coating surface with the stainless steel cutter head. The spacing and number of cutter teeth are configured according to different film thickness standards and test requirements to ensure the accuracy and comparability of test results.
Applications
Coating adhesion testing, coating mass evaluation, surface preparation testing
Standards
VDA 621-411、EN ISO 2409、ASTM D 3359
Steps
1. Select the appropriate cutter head model according to the test criteria
2. Adjust the cutter head to a comfortable operating position
3. Cross-cut operation on coating surface
4. Use a nylon brush to clean the test area
5. Evaluate adhesion grade by magnifying glass
Notice
• Confirm that the cutter head model matches the test standard before use
• Keep the cutter head perpendicular to the test surface during operation
• Regularly check the sharpness of the knife head to ensure the accuracy of the test
• Clean the instrument in time after the test and store it properly
• Note that the applicable film thickness range is 0~ 60μm
