Overview
WXG-4 disc polarimeter is a classic instrument, easy to operate, wide range (+/- 180 degrees), suitable for the measurement of Optical rotation compound solution. Measurement accuracy is 0.05 degrees.
Features
Measurement range is -180 ° to 180 °.
2. Measurement accuracy is high, the vernier grid value is 0.05 °.
3. Easy to operate, equipped with magnifying glass for easy reading.
4. Illuminant stable, using a wavelength of 589nm standard sodium lamp.
5. Strong applicability, supports a variety of testtube lengths (50, 100, 200mm).
Principle
The WXG-4 disc polarimeter is equipped with a standard sodium lamp with a wavelength of 589nm. After turning on the power supply, the Illuminant is projected onto the condenser and polarizer, which are divided into ordinary light and extraordinary light. Through the eyepiece, the bright light display can be observed while dark. Put the testtube containing the Optical rotation compound solution into the sample chamber, slowly turn the handwheel to find the light consistent with the zero point, and then read the reading on the dial through the magnifying glass, which is the optical rotation value of the sample.
Applications
Research and teaching, chemical industry, food and sugar industry, and other industrial applications
Steps
1. Turn on the power and project the sodium light source.
2. Place the testtube containing the Optical rotation compound solution into the sample chamber.
3. Slowly turn the handwheel to find the same light as at zero.
4. Read the reading on the dial through the magnifying glass, which is the optical rotation value of the sample.
5. After the measurement is completed, the purity, concentration, content and specific rotation of the substance are calculated according to the optical rotation value.
Notice
• Make sure the power supply is AC 220V/50Hz before use.
• Turn the handwheel slowly during operation to avoid fast movement affecting the reading accuracy.
• Read the dial through magnifying glass to ensure accuracy.
• Calculate relevant parameters in time after measurement to make full use of the data.
