Overview
The Defelsko PRBF90ES-D is a split 90 ° miniature thickness gauge Probe, model 6000 F90ES Cabled Probe. It is designed for the measurement of nonconductive coating thickness on ferrous substrates such as steel and cast iron, for small parts, hard-to-reach areas or low headroom areas near edges. The Probe has a minimal measurement tip and good thin film measurement accuracy.
Features
1. Probe design for measurement of low headroom area.
2. Miniature Probe design with minimal measurement tip for measurement of small parts, hard-to-reach areas or near edges.
3. Provide good film measurement accuracy.
4. Probe line is extended at right angles, with a length of 350mm.
5. Probe size is φ 5mm.
Principle
The Probe works based on the principle of magnetic Induction and is used for the measurement of nonmagnetic coating thickness on ferrous metal substrates. When the Probe touches the surface of the coating, the instrument calculates the film thickness of the coating by measuring the change in magnetic flux.
Applications
Suitable for measurement of small parts, hard-to-reach areas or low clearance areas near the edge, for detecting coating thickness on iron substrates.
Standards
Calibrated certificate: Yes
Steps
1. Connect the Probe to a compatible PosiTector host.
2. Before measurement, calibrate on the appropriate substrate according to the host operating instructions.
3. Place the Probe vertically on the surface of the coating to be tested.
4. Ensure that the Probe is in stable contact with the surface and the host will display the coating thickness reading.
Notice
Make sure the Probe is used with a compatible PosiTector host (serial number greater than 700000).
• It must be calibrated on a clean, flat, coating-free homogeneous substrate before measurement.
• Probe measurement range is 0~ 45 mils (0~ 1150 μm), do not use beyond the range.
• Accuracy is +/- (0.02 mils + 1%) in the range of 0 to 4 mils , +/- ( 0.1 mils + 3%) in the range of > 4 mils, please note the difference in accuracy between different ranges.
• Probe is a precision instrument, please avoid falling or impact.
Do not use in environments beyond the specified conditions.
