Overview
Leneta Form 9B Opacity Chart is a professional test cardboard used to detect paint, inks hiding power performance and levelling sagging. Its surface is black and white striped style and covered with a layer of seal, which can effectively prevent paint penetration and ensure the accuracy of test results. The product specification is 194 * 289mm and the Encasement is 250 sheets/box.
Features
1. The surface is covered with a sealed coating to prevent the penetration of the paint and ensure the accuracy of the test.
2. Adopt a black and white striped design for clear observation and evaluation of the covering effect.
3. Standard size (194 * 289mm), meeting routine testing requirements.
4. Encasement specification of 250 sheets/box, to meet the use of batch testing.
Principle
The Opacity Chart provides a contrasting background for paint or inks' Spreaders through its surface-specific pattern of black and white stripes. For testing, the sample Spreader is applied to the paper and its covering ability is evaluated by observing the degree to which the stripes are covered. The surface seal layer acts as an isolation, preventing the liquid sample from over-penetrating into the paper fibers, thus truly reflecting the actual covering and levelling performance of the sample on the substrate surface.
Applications
Paints, inks
Steps
1. Prepare samples of paint or inks to be tested.
2. Take a Leneta Form 9B Opacity Chart and lay it tiled on the test table.
3. Spreader the sample evenly in the black and white striped area of the paper using the specified coating applicator (e.g. scraper).
4. Make the coating drying under standard conditions (such as specified temperature, humidity and time).
5. Observe and evaluate the degree of covering of black and white stripes by drying coating to judge its hiding power.
6. At the same time, the leveling and sagging of the coating can be observed.
Notice
Before testing, please ensure that the test environment (temperature and humidity) meets the relevant standards.
