Overview
The HOBO MX2204 TidbiT Water Temperature Logger is a High Accuracy temperature data logger utilizing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology. Designed for long-term underwater deployments, it is rugged and waterproof for use in environments such as streams, lakes and oceans. It can be conveniently set up and downloaded wirelessly on iOS or Android mobile devices via the free HOBOmobile app.

Principle
The HOBO MX2204 Data Logger uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to wirelessly transmit High Accuracy Temperature Measured values to compatible mobile devices. It measures Ambient Temperature with a built-in Sensor. Data storage is inside the logger, and users can set, start, stop, and download data through the HOBOmobile App. Its water detection function optimizes operating status to save battery when water is detected.

Steps
1. Make sure you have a compatible mobile device and install the free HOBOmobile app.
Connect the mobile device to the MX2204 recorder via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
3. Use the HOBOmobile app to set the logger wirelessly (e.g. Sampling interval, Alarm threshold).
4. Deploy the logger to the target environment (supports underwater deployment).
5. Once the data collection is complete, download the data wirelessly through the application again.
Notice
• It needs to be used with the HOBOmobile App and compatible mobile devices. Please refer to the relevant page for application system requirements.
• The water detection function works reliably when the water conductivity is greater than or equal to 100 µS/cm; deionized water or water with conductivity below 100 µS/cm may not be detected.
When the water around the Electrode freezes below 0 ° C (32 ° F), the conductivity circuit may not reliably detect the water.
• Battery is a user non-replaceable CR2477 3V lithium battery with a typical Battery life of 3 to 5 years.
• Recorder Typical Response Time (90%) in air is 15 minutes (wind speed 1m/s) and 4 minutes (90%) in agitated water.
• Wireless transmission distance is approximately 30.5 meters (100 feet) under line-of-sight conditions.
