The HOBO MX2501 pH and Temperature Data Logger from Onset is a device for long-term monitoring of pH values in water bodies such as estuaries, lakes, streams, rivers, and oceans. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to communicate wirelessly with the free HOBOmobile ® app, making setup, calibrate, and data download quick and easy. This compact, economical logger is designed to significantly reduce the time and effort required for field data collection and provide higher data resolution.
1. Boot the ph value calibrated on the HOBOmobile app to make the complex process easy to operate. 2. PVC material is suitable for fresh water and salt water environment. 3. Quickly and easily download data to iOS devices via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). 4. Battery life and less maintenance water detection system. 5. Equipped with potential pH Electrode with plastic body, gel electrolysis and double junction. 6. Users can replace the battery, pH Electrode and anti-bio copper shield by themselves. 7. At +/- 10 ° C temperature, the pH calibrating accuracy is +/- 0.10 pH.
The MX2501 logger uses the built-in Potential pH Electrode to measure the pH value of a water body. Based on electrochemistry principles, the Electrode's Glass pH Sensor bubble responds to hydrogen ion activity, generating a millivolt (mV) signal related to the pH value, which the logger converts into a pH reading. At the same time, the device's integrated temperature sensor is used for water temperature measurement for temperature compensation, ensuring the accuracy of pH measurement. Data is wirelessly transmitted to mobile devices via Bluetooth low energy technology.

1. Use the HOBOmobile app to connect the recorder via Bluetooth. 2. Complete the calibration process of pH Electrode under the guidance of the application. 3. Set recording parameters in the application, such as recording interval (1 second to 18 hours), start mode (immediate, keystroke, fixed time or delayed), and stop mode (full stop, keystroke, fixed time or stop after recording setting cycle). 4. Deploy the recorder into the target water body (maximum water depth of 40 meters). 5. After deployment, download the data wirelessly through the app.
PH Electrode should always be stored in a storage solution when not deployed. * Water conductivity of a minimum of 100 μs/cm can be reliably detected, deionized water or water below this conductivity may not be detected. Water conduction circuits cannot reliably detect water frozen around Electrode, i.e. at temperatures below 0 ° C (32 ° F). The typical service life of pH Electrode is 6 months. The data download time is approximately 60 seconds, and it may take longer if the distance is longer. * The recorder adopts the storage mode of cyclic storage or full stop, which needs to be set in advance according to requirements. Battery life is affected by the recording interval and Bluetooth on status, typically 1 to 2 years.
