Overview
The YONGLIDA 2W binocular Abbe refractometer is an instrument for the measurement of the refractive index ND and average dispersion NF-NC in transparent, translucent liquids or solids. Equipped with Thermostat, the instrument can measure the refractive index ND in the 0 ° C to 70 ° C Temperature range and can measure the sugar concentration percentage of sugar solutions.
Features
1. Adopt a binocular observation system.
2. Measurement range, refractive index ND Measurement range is 1.300~ 1.700.
3. Equipped with Thermostat, supports refractive index measurement in the 0 ℃ to 70 ℃ Temperature range.
4. With sugar measurement function, Measurement range is 0~ 95%.
Principle
The instrument works based on the principle of total reflection of light (Abbe refraction principle). When a ray of light is incident from a dense medium into a photosparse medium, full reflection occurs if the incident angle is greater than the critical angle. By measuring the critical angle, the refractive index of the sample to be measured can be calculated. The instrument contacts the sample through a prism and uses a telescope system to observe the boundary between light and dark to read the refractive index or sugar content value.
Applications
Chemical, food, pharmaceutical, sugar, scientific research, education
Steps
1. Turn on the instrument lighting source.
2. Use standard blocks or distillation water to calibrate the instrument.
3. Drop the sample to be tested on the surface of the prism.
4. Close the prism and lock it tightly.
5. Adjust the eyepiece focal length to make the field of view clear.
6. swirl/spin handwheel, so that the line of light and dark in the field of view coincides with the intersection of the cross line.
7. Read the refractive index or sugar value from the reading telescope.
8. After the measurement is completed, clean the prism surface.
Notice
• The instrument should be placed in a drying, clean, non-corrosive gas environment.
• It needs to be calibrated before use to ensure measurement accuracy.
• When measuring liquid samples, make sure the prism surface is clean and bubble-free.
• Avoid scratching the surface of the prism with hard objects.
• When using Thermostat, make sure the connection is correct and pay attention to the Temperature range.
• When measuring solid samples, ensure that the sample is in good contact with the prism.
• When the instrument is not in use, it should be covered with a dust cover.
