Overview
The YONGLIDA 2WAJ Monocular Abbe Refractometer is an instrument for the measurement of the refractive index ND and average dispersion NF-NC of transparent, translucent liquids or solids. Equipped with Thermostat, the instrument can measure the refractive index ND in the Temperature range from 0 ° C to 70 ° C and can measure the sugar concentration percentage of sugar solutions.

Principle
The Abbe refractometer is based on the principle of total reflection of light. When a ray of light enters a dense medium from a dense medium, refraction and reflection occur. By measuring the critical angle, the refractive index of the measured sample can be calculated. The instrument observes the light and dark boundary through the eyepiece and directly reads the refractive index or sugar content value in combination with the scale.

Steps
1. Turn on the instrument lighting source and adjust the focal length of the eyepiece to make the field of view clear.
2. Use standard blocks or distillation water to calibrate the instrument zero point.
3. Drop the sample to be tested on the surface of the prism and close the prism.
4. swirl/spin handwheel, so that the line of light and dark in the field of view coincides with the center of the cross line.
5. Read the refractive index or sugar content value from the reading telescope.
6. For thermostatic measurement, connect the Thermostat and set the desired temperature. After the temperature stabilizes, the repeability steps 3-5.
7. After the measurement is completed, clean the prism with a special cleaning solution.

• The instrument should be placed in a drying, dust-free, non-corrosive gas environment.
• Optical inspection prism precision parts, cleaning should use soft cotton cloth and special cleaning liquid to avoid scratches.
• When measuring solid samples, ensure that the contact surface with the prism is flat, clean and bubble-free.
• When using Thermostat, ensure that the circulating fluid is sufficient and there is no leakage in the connecting pipeline.
• When calibrating and measuring, ensure that the sample evenly covers the prism working surface without bubbles.
• Avoid severe vibration or impact on the instrument.
• When not in use for a long time, the prism should be cleaned and dried with a dust cover.
