Overview
The YONGLIDA WAJ-2S digital Abbe refractometer is an instrument for the measurement of the refractive index ND and average dispersion NF-NC in transparent, translucent liquids or solids. Equipped with Thermostat, the instrument can measure the refractive index ND in the Temperature range of 0 ° C to 70 ° C and can measure the sugar concentration percentage of sugar solutions.
Features
1. Measurement range: refractive index ND Measurement range is 1.300~ 1.700, sugar concentration Measurement range is 0~ 95%.
2. Measurement accuracy: refractive index ND Measurement accuracy of 0.0002, resolution of 0.0002.
3. Fine sugar measurement: sugar concentration (Brix) resolution up to 0.1%.
4. With temperature control: Thermostat is connected to support measurement under temperature control conditions of 0 ° C to 70 ° C.
Principle
The instrument works on the principle of Abbe refraction and determines the refractive index of a substance by measuring the deflection angle of light that occurs when it enters another medium from one medium. For sugar solutions, the refractive index corresponds to the concentration, so the sugar concentration can be calculated by measuring the refractive index.
Applications
Transparent, translucent liquid or solid refractive index measurement, sugar solution sugar concentration measurement
Steps
1. Turn on the instrument and warm up.
2. Use standard samples to calibrate the instrument.
3. Drop or place the sample to be tested on the measurement prism.
4. Close the prism and ensure that the sample covers the measurement surface evenly.
5. Observe or read the measurement values (refractive index nD and/or Brix) on the digital display screen through the eyepiece.
6. Record measurement results.
7. After the measurement is completed, clean the prism.
Notice
• Make sure the instrument is calibrated before measurement.
The sample should be evenly covered with the measurement prism to avoid bubbles.
• Clean the prism in time after use to prevent residual corrosion of the sample or affect the next Measurement accuracy.
• When operating Thermostat, pay attention to the set Temperature range (0 ℃ -70 ℃).
• Avoid using the instrument in a strong vibration or direct light environment.
