Overview
The polystyrene calibrate block (model STDP1) is an excellent tool for verifying film thickness gauge accuracy and operation, and is an important part of meeting ISO standards and internal quality control requirements. Many organizations require that the film thickness gauge be Precision verified at the test site each time it is used, and frequently during use. The DeFelsko-certified Coating thickness standard, with measurements traceable to national Measurement Bodies, is well suited for this purpose.
Features
Used to verify the accuracy and operation of any Type 1 (mechanical) and Type 2 (electronic) magnetic, eddy current or ultrasonic film thickness gauge.
2. Suitable for calibrating laboratory, field or factory floor.
3. Standards with steel or aluminum substrates consist of 4 plates mounted in a protective gluing agent.
4. Polystyrene Film thickness standard 4 blocks provided by sturdy acrylic storage box.
5. Serialize individually to trace back to NIST or PTB and include calibrated certificates.
6. Metric and imperial units are both certified and marked.
7. Zero version can be used for certified coated metal sheets and certified polystyrene blocks.
Principle
This product is used as a standard reference for known Film thickness. By comparing the film thickness gauge measurement results with the certified standard Film thickness values on the calibrated block that can be traced back to the national Measurement Agency, the measurement accuracy and operation of the thickness gauge are verified.
Applications
Film thickness gauge calibrating, quality control, laboratory testing, field measurement verification
Steps
1. Choose the appropriate substrate (steel or aluminum) calibrated block according to the type of film thickness gauge to be verified (magnetic, eddy current or ultrasonic).
2. Place the film thickness gauge probe smoothly on the known Film thickness area of the polystyrene calibrated block for measurement.
3. Compare the thickness gauge reading with the certified Film thickness value for the corresponding area on the calibrated block.
4. According to the comparison results, determine whether the accuracy of the thickness gauge meets the requirements, or make necessary calibrating adjustments.
Notice
• Compatible models include the PosiTector 6000 series (FT, FTS, NTS, FNTS, FTRS) and the PosiTector 200D.
Film thickness values: 375μm (15mils), 2mm (80mils), 4.5mm (185mils), 6.5mm (250mils).
The margin of error is +/- 0.05%.
• Please keep the calibrated certificate properly to maintain its traceability.
• Avoid scratching or damaging the measurement surface of the calibrated block when using it.
Store in a sturdy acrylic case provided to prevent damage and contamination.
