Overview
Polystyrene calibrate blocks are an excellent choice for verifying film thickness gauge accuracy and operation, and are an important part of meeting ISO and internal quality control requirements. Many organizations require that the thickness gauge's Precision be verified at the test site each time a film thickness gauge is put into service, and frequently during use. The DeFelsko-certified Coating thickness standard, with measurements traceable to national Measurement bodies, is well suited for this purpose.
Features
Used to verify the accuracy and operation of any Type 1 (mechanical) and Type 2 (electronic) magnetic, eddy current or ultrasonic film thickness gauge.
2. Suitable for calibrating laboratory, field or factory floor.
3. Standards with steel or aluminum substrates consist of 4 plates mounted in a protective gluing agent.
4. Polystyrene Film thickness standard 4 blocks provided by sturdy acrylic storage box.
5. Separate serialization to trace back to NIST or PTB, including calibrated certificates.
6. Metric and imperial units are both certified and marked.
7. Zero version can be used for certified coated metal sheets and certified polystyrene blocks.
Principle
This product is used as a standard reference for known Film thickness to verify and calibrate the accuracy of the Coating thickness measuring instrument. The user uses the known Film thickness value on the film thickness gauge measurement calibrating block to be verified, and can judge whether the accuracy and operation of the instrument are normal by comparing the measurement result with the standard value of the calibrating block.
Applications
Film thickness gauge calibrating, field accuracy verification, laboratory quality control, factory floor testing
Standards
ISO standards, internal quality control requirements
Steps
1. Remove the desired polystyrene calibrating block from the acrylic storage box.
2. Make sure that the film thickness gauge to be verified is turned on and the basic settings are completed.
3. Use a film thickness gauge probe for measurement of known Film thickness values marked on calibrated blocks.
4. Record measurement results.
5. Compare the measurement results with the certified standard Film thickness values on the calibrated block.
6. Determine whether the instrument accuracy meets the requirements according to the comparison results.
Notice
• Please keep the calibrated certificate properly for traceability.
• Please put the calibrated block back into the protective acrylic case before and after use to avoid scratches or contamination.
Do not use calibrated blocks for actual coating measurements to avoid damaging their standard surfaces.
• When verifying, make sure that the probe is perpendicular to the surface of the calibrated block and in good contact.
• Compatible models include PosiTector 6000 series (FHS, NHS, EOC), please confirm compatibility before use.
