Overview
The polystyrene calibrate block (model: STDP3) is an important tool for verifying film thickness gauge accuracy and operation, especially for meeting ISO standards and internal quality control requirements. This product provides field validation of film thickness gauge Precision measurements traceable to national Measurement agencies before and during use.
Features
Used to verify the accuracy and operation of magnetic, eddy current or ultrasonic film thickness gauges (Type 1 mechanical and Type 2 electronic).
2. Suitable for calibrated laboratory, field or factory workshop and other environments.
3. The standard consists of four plates mounted in a protective gluing agent, and the substrate is steel or aluminum.
4. Polystyrene Film thickness standard contains 4 calibrated blocks and comes with a sturdy acrylic storage case.
5. Each calibrated block is serialized individually, traceable to NIST or PTB, and accompanied by a calibrated certificate.
6. Metric and imperial units are both certified and marked.
7. Zero version is available, which can be used for certified coating metal sheets and certified polystyrene blocks.
Principle
The polystyrene calibrate block verifies the accuracy of the Coating thickness measuring instrument by providing a series of known and accurate Film thickness values as a reference standard. Measurement accuracy is determined and calibrated by placing a thickness gauge probe on the calibrate block for measurement and comparing the instrument reading with the calibrate block's known nominal Film thickness value.
Applications
Coating thickness measuring instrument calibrating, laboratory Measurement, on-site quality control, factory floor inspection
Steps
1. Turn on the film thickness gauge and select the corresponding Measurement mode (if applicable).
2. Film thickness polystyrene calibrated block is removed from the acrylic storage box.
3. Clean the surface of the calibrated block to ensure that there is no dust or oil.
4. Place the thickness gauge probe smoothly and vertically on the measurement area of the calibrated block.
5. Read and record the measurement value of the thickness gauge.
6. Compare the measurement with the certified Film thickness value marked on the calibrated block.
7. According to the comparison results, determine whether the thickness gauge needs to be calibrated or adjusted.
8. After the test is completed, put the calibrated block back in the acrylic storage box and store it properly.
Notice
• Please check whether the calibrating block is scratched, damaged or contaminated before use, so as not to affect the calibrating accuracy.
• Please handle with care when operating to avoid the calibrating block being hit or dropped.
• The calibrated block should be stored in the acrylic box provided and placed in a drying, clean environment.
• Do not use organic solvents or corrosive chemicals to clean the surface of the calibrated block.
• The calibrated certificate is an important document for traceability, please keep it properly.
• It is recommended that the calibrated block be sent to a qualified institution for re-calibrating on a regular basis to ensure the accuracy of its magnitude.
