Overview
Polystyrene calibrate blocks are an excellent choice for verifying film thickness gauge accuracy and operation, and are an important part of meeting ISO and internal quality control requirements. Many organizations require that the thickness gauge's Precision be verified at the test site each time a film thickness gauge is put into service, and frequently during use. The DeFelsko-certified Coating thickness standard, with measurements traceable to national Measurement bodies, is well suited for this purpose.
Features
Used to verify the accuracy and operation of any Type 1 (mechanical) and Type 2 (electronic) magnetic, eddy current or ultrasonic film thickness gauge.
2. Suitable for calibrating laboratory, field or factory floor.
3. Standards with steel or aluminum substrates consist of 4 plates mounted in a protective gluing agent.
4. Polystyrene Film thickness standard 4 blocks provided by sturdy acrylic storage box.
5. Serialize individually to trace back to NIST or PTB - including calibrated certificates.
6. Metric and imperial units are both certified and marked.
7. Zero version can be used for certified coated metal sheets and certified polystyrene blocks.
Principle
This product is used as a standard reference for known Film thickness to verify and calibrate the accuracy of Coating thickness measuring instruments. Users use the known Film thickness values calibrated on the film thickness gauge calibrated block to be calibrated to verify the accuracy and operation of the instrument by comparing the measurement values with the standard values of the calibrated block.
Applications
Film thickness gauge calibrated, quality control, laboratory calibrated, field calibrated, factory floor calibrated
Standards
ISO standards, internal quality control requirements
Steps
1. Place the film thickness gauge probe to be calibrated smoothly in the measurement area of the polystyrene calibrated block.
2. Read and record the measurement value displayed by the film thickness gauge.
3. Compare this measurement with a known standard Film thickness value calibrated on the calibrated block.
4. According to the comparison results, determine whether the Measurement accuracy of the film thickness gauge meets the requirements, or make corresponding calibrating adjustments.
Notice
• Please confirm that the calibrated block serial number is consistent with the calibrated certificate before use.
• Ensure that the probe and the surface of the calibrated block are clean and in smooth contact during measurement.
• The calibrated block should be properly stored in the acrylic storage box provided to avoid scratches, contamination or physical damage.
• Do not use or store calibrated blocks outside the specified environment conditions.
• Regularly send the calibrated block to a qualified institution for re-calibrating according to the frequency of use and standard requirements to ensure the continued effectiveness of its value traceability.
