Overview
STDS1 calibrated coated metal sheet is an epoxy-based Resin coating standard sheet coated on a magnetic steel substrate. This product is an excellent choice for verifying film thickness gauge accuracy and operation, and is an important part of meeting ISO and internal quality control requirements. Its certified measurements can be traced back to national measurement agencies and are suitable for verifying the thickness gauge's Precision in the field before each test.
Features
Used to verify the accuracy and operation of any Type 1 (mechanical) and Type 2 (electronic) magnetic, eddy current or ultrasonic film thickness gauge.
2. Suitable for calibrating laboratory, field or factory floor.
3. The standard consists of 4 plates installed in a protective gluing agent.
4. Serialized individually, traceable to NIST or PTB, and containing calibrated certificates.
5. Metric and imperial units are both certified and marked.
6. Zero version is available, which can be used for certified coating metal sheets and certified polystyrene blocks.
Principle
This product is used as a standard reference for known Film thickness. The user uses the certified Coating thickness on the film thickness gauge standard board to verify the measurement accuracy and operation of the thickness gauge by comparing the measurement results with the calibration values on the standard board.
Applications
Film thickness gauge calibrating, field accuracy verification, factory quality control, laboratory Measurement, ISO standard requirements
Steps
1. Turn on the film thickness gauge and select the correct Measurement mode (such as magnetic thickness measurement).
2. Place the probe smoothly and vertically on the designated measurement area of the standard plate.
3. Separate measurement of different Film thickness blocks calibrated on the standard plate (such as 0μm, 75μm, 250μm, 1500μm).
4. Record the reading of the thickness gauge.
5. Compare the reading with the nominal value and allowable error range on the standard board certificate to verify the accuracy of the instrument.
Notice
• Please check whether the standard board and calibrated certificate are in good condition before use.
• Ensure that the probe is clean and in vertical and stable contact with the standard plate surface during measurement.
• Avoid scratches or contamination on the coating surface of the standard board.
• The calibrated certificate should be kept properly for traceability.
• Compatible models include PosiTector 6000 series (F, FS, FRS, FN, FNS, FNRS, FXS, FNDS) and PosiTest F & M series.
• Film thickness error range of +/- 0.43μm or +/- 0.017mils.
