Overview
The STDS2 calibrated coated metal plate is a standard part of the DeFelsko brand for verifying the accuracy of film thickness gauges. The product consists of a magnetic steel substrate coated with epoxy-based Resin coating. Its measurements can be traced back to national measurement agencies. It is an important tool for meeting ISO and internal quality control requirements and verifying the accuracy of thickness gauges in the field or in the laboratory.
Features
1. Used to verify the accuracy and operation of Type 1 (mechanical) and Type 2 (electronic) magnetic, eddy current or ultrasonic film thickness gauges.
2. Suitable for calibrated laboratory, field or factory workshop and other environments.
3. The standard consists of 4 plates installed in a protective gluing agent.
4. Each set of standards has a separate serial number, can be traced back to NIST or PTB, and includes a calibrated certificate.
5. Metric and imperial units are both certified and marked.
6. Zero version is available, which can be used for certified coating metal sheets and certified polystyrene blocks.
Principle
This product is used as a standard reference for known Film thickness. The user uses the certified Coating thickness on the film thickness gauge standard board to verify the accuracy and operation of the thickness gauge by comparing the reading of the thickness gauge with the known nominal value and error range of the standard board.

Steps
1. Turn on the film thickness gauge and complete the basic settings.
2. According to the thickness gauge type (magnetic, eddy current or ultrasonic), select the corresponding calibrated coating metal plate.
3. Multiple measurements are made on each certified Film thickness block of the standard plate (e.g. 0 μm, 75 μm, 250 μm, 1000 μm).
4. Compare the average measurement value of the thickness gauge with the nominal value and error range of the standard plate (e.g. +/- 0.43 μm).
5. Verify that the thickness gauge reading is within acceptable error limits to determine its accuracy.
Notice
* Before use, please confirm that the calibration plate model (STDS2) is compatible with your thickness gauge model (e.g. PosiTector 6000 series, PosiTest DFT series).
* When operating, ensure that the measurement probe is clean and in good contact with the surface of the standard plate.
* The calibrated certificate is an important basis for traceability, please keep it properly.
Avoid scratching, bending, or corrosion of the standard board to prevent its certification value from becoming invalid.
Periodically send the standard board to a qualified institution for re-calibrating to ensure its long-term accuracy.
