Overview
STDS3 calibrated coated metal sheet is a Defelsko standard sheet for verifying film thickness gauge accuracy. The product consists of epoxy-based Resin coated magnetic steel sheet with certified measurements traceable to national Measurement agencies, making it an excellent choice for meeting ISO and internal quality control requirements and verifying thickness gauge Precision in the field or in the laboratory.
Features
Used to verify the accuracy and operation of any Type 1 (mechanical) and Type 2 (electronic) magnetic, eddy current or ultrasonic film thickness gauge.
2. Suitable for calibrating laboratory, field or factory floor.
3. The standard consists of 4 plates installed in a protective gluing agent.
4. Serialize individually to trace back to NIST or PTB and include calibrated certificates.
5. Metric and imperial units are both certified and marked.
6. Zero version available for certified coated metal sheets and certified polystyrene blocks.
Principle
Measurement accuracy and operation of the thickness gauge are verified by comparing the measurement reading of the film thickness gauge with the certified Coating thickness value on the standard board.
Applications
Film thickness gauge calibrating, quality control, field inspection and verification
Standards
ISO standards, internal quality control requirements
Steps
1. Place the film thickness gauge probe in the designated measurement area of the standard plate.
2. Read the measurement value of the thickness gauge.
3. Compare the measurement value with the certified Film thickness value of the corresponding area on the standard board.
4. Determine the accuracy of the thickness gauge based on the comparison results.
Notice
• Please keep the calibrated certificate properly for traceability.
• Avoid scratching or damaging the surface of the standard board when using it.
• Ensure that the thickness gauge probe is in good contact with the surface of the standard board.
• Compatible models include PosiTest G, GM series, and PosiPen A, B, and C series.
• The standard plate contains four Film thickness blocks with specific values: 0, 15 μm (0.6mils), 40 μm (1.6mils), 100 μm (4mils), with an error range of +/- 0.43 μm or +/- 0.017 mils.
