Overview
STDA2 calibrated coated metal plate is a standard plate used to verify the accuracy and operation of film thickness gauges. It consists of a nonmagnetic aluminum substrate coated with epoxy-based Resin coating. Its measurement values can be traced back to national measurement agencies. It is an important tool for meeting ISO and internal quality control requirements. It is suitable for frequent verification of film thickness gauges before and during each use.
Features
Used to verify the accuracy and operation of any Type 1 (mechanical) and Type 2 (electronic) magnetic, eddy current or ultrasonic film thickness gauge.
2. Suitable for calibrated laboratory, field or factory workshop and other environments.
3. The standard consists of 4 plates installed in a protective gluing agent.
4. Serialized individually, traceable to NIST or PTB, and containing calibrated certificates.
5. Metric and imperial units are both certified and marked.
6. Zero version is available, which can be used for certified coating metal sheets and certified polystyrene blocks.
Principle
Coating thickness of this product is used as a standard reference for known Film thickness, and its Coating thickness is precisely measured and certified. The user uses the specified area on the film thickness gauge measurement board to compare the thickness gauge reading with the certified value on the standard board to verify the thickness gauge Measurement accuracy and operation are normal.
Applications
Film thickness gauge calibrating, field accuracy verification, factory floor quality control, laboratory Measurement, ISO standard requirements, internal quality control
Steps
1. Ensure that the film thickness gauge (e.g. PosiTector6000 series or PosiTest DFT combo) is turned on and in normal working condition.
Place the thickness gauge probe vertically and smoothly on the designated measurement block of the standard plate (e.g. 0, 75 μm, 250 μm, 500 μm).
3. Read and record the measurement value of the thickness gauge.
4. Compare the reading of the thickness gauge with the certified value of the corresponding measurement block on the standard board.
5. Determine whether the accuracy of the thickness gauge is within the allowable error range based on the comparison results (e.g. +/- 0.43 μm or +/- 0.017 mils).
Notice
Before use, please ensure that the standard board and thickness gauge probe are clean and free of damage.
* During measurement, the probe should contact the measurement surface vertically and smoothly to avoid tilting or shaking.
* Do not make measurements in non-designated measurement areas of the standard board, so as not to affect the accuracy of the calibrated results.
Secure calibrated certificates for traceability and verification.
* Avoid the standard board from being hit, scratched or exposed to corrosive substances to prevent damage to the coating or affect the certified value.
* This product is a precision metrology standard for calibrating and verification purposes only, do not use for Miscellaneous purposes.
