Overview
X-Coarse asperity replication tape, commonly known as anchor paper, rubbing paper, consists of 2 mils (50 microns) of polyester film and approximately 5 mils (127 microns) of compressible film coating. The tape is used for the measurement of sand blasting or shot peening of surface asperity by profiling. Measurement range is 1.5 to 4.5 mils (40 to 115 microns).
Features
1. Composite of polyester film and compressible film, with stable structure.
2. Compressible film Film thickness varies between 5 and 6 mils (127 and 152 microns) without affecting measurement accuracy.
3. Each roll of tape is labeled with the manufacturing code and date for easy tracking.
4. It can be stored for a long time in a clean drying environment without a clear valid period.
5. The tape grade is X-Coarse, Measurement range is 38~ 115μm, each roll contains 50 sheets.
Principle
The product uses the profiling method to measure surface roughness. First, the replica tape is pressed on the sand blasting or shot peening surface to replicate the "impression" reflecting the characteristics of the substrate surface roughness. Then, the peak and valley heights of the impression are measured using Roughness Gauge to obtain the asperity value of the measured surface.
Applications
Sand blasting surface roughness measurement, shot peening surface roughness measurement
Steps
1. Clean the surface to be tested.
2. Press the replication tape on the target surface, ensuring sufficient contact to replicate the "impression".
3. Remove the tape with the "impression".
4. Use Roughness Gauge to measure the peak and valley height of the impression on the tape.
Notice
* Tape should be kept in a relatively clean, drying environment.
* Avoid exposing the tape to temperatures higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius), otherwise it will reduce its pressing performance.
Avoid exposing the tape to temperatures above 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius), as this will reduce the actual Press-O-Film effect.
* Tape should be kept away from petroleum products to avoid degradation.
