Overview
Testex Press-O-Film HT asperity replication tape, commonly known as anchor paper, rubbing paper, is used for the measurement of asperity on sand blasting or shot peening surfaces. The tape consists of polyester film and compressible film. Measurement range is 40 to 115 microns (1.5 to 4.5 mils). Each roll contains 50 sheets.
Features
1. Use the profiling method for measurement, and copy the surface roughness to form an "impression" for measurement.
The tape is composed of 2 mils (50 microns) of polyester film and approximately 5 mils (127 microns) of compressible film.
3. Measurement range is clear, 40 to 115 microns (1.5 to 4.5 mils).
4. Each roll of tape is labeled with the manufacturing code and date for easy tracking.
5. It can be stored for a long time in a suitable environment and has stable performance.
Principle
The product uses the profiling method to measure surface roughness. First, a copy tape is used on a sand blasting or shot peening surface to produce an "impression" consistent with the type of substrate surface roughness. Then, the peaks and valleys of this impression are measured using Roughness Gauge to obtain the asperity value of the measured surface.
Applications
Sand blasting surface roughness measurement, shot peening surface roughness measurement
Steps
1. Press the asperity replication tape on the sand blasting or shot peening surface to be tested to replicate the "impression" of surface roughness.
2. Use a special Roughometer to measure the peaks and valleys of the copied "impression".
3. Read and record the asperity value displayed by the measurement instrument.
Notice
* Tape should be kept in a relatively clean, drying environment.
* Avoid exposing the tape to an environment above 120 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius), high temperatures will reduce tape performance.
* Avoid exposing the tape to environments above 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius), as high temperatures can significantly reduce the effectiveness of Press-O-Film.
* The tape should be kept away from petroleum products to avoid tape degradation.
