Overview
Plastic calibrated diaphragms are an economical alternative to coated metal plates and are suitable for all Type 2 electronic Coating thickness gauges. They have a calibrating accuracy of +/- 2 μm (+/- 0.08 mil) and can be used for calibrated film thickness gauges when placed on a smooth metal surface (zero plate). Non-calibrated plastic specimens (foils) are used for quick operation checks and practice measurements of the instrument and can be placed on uncoated metal substrates, but are not suitable for magnetic pull-out thickness gauges.
Features
1. Simulate coatings on specific substrate materials or shapes to facilitate periodic verification of gauge performance according to international test method requirements.

Principle
The plastic calibrated diaphragm is coated by simulating a specific Film thickness, and when placed on a smooth metal surface (Zero Plate), the film thickness gauge can measure its known calibrated Film thickness, thus enabling instrument calibrating or performance verification.

Steps
1. Place the plastic calibrated diaphragm on a smooth metal surface (zero plate).
2. Film thickness measurement using film thickness gauge.
3. For non-calibrated test pieces, they can be placed on uncoated metal substrates for quick operation inspection or practice measurement.
Notice
* Non-calibrated plastic specimens (foils) are not suitable for use with magnetic pull-out thickness gauges.
* Measurement range of the calibrated diaphragm is 75 μm with an error margin of +/- 2 μm.
* Dimensions are 3 * 8 cm.
