Overview
American Defelsko base zero plates are precision machined steel (1018 steel) or aluminum (6061-T6) plates without coatings.
Features
1. Precision machining, no coating on the surface.
2. Available in steel (1018 steel) and aluminum (6061-T6).
Principle
The base zero plate acts as a reference plate with known Film thickness zero for calibrating and verifying the zero point of the Coating thickness gauge. By placing the thickness gauge probe on the zero plate for measurement, it is possible to verify whether the instrument has an accurate reading of zero, or to make a zero point adjustment. After adjustment, the instrument re-measurements the coated standard plate with known Film thickness to ensure measurement accuracy. In addition, it can be used as a flat substrate for placing the sheet material to be tested for indirect measurement of Film thickness of the material.
Applications
1. Used with coated metal calibration plate standards for calibrating magnetic and eddy current thickness gauges.
2. Use with calibrated and non-calibrated plastic films, polystyrene blocks to verify measurements.
3. As a substrate without a substrate material, it is used for the measurement of the film thickness of large materials (such as paper, plastic, fabric, rubber), such as the measurement of the film thickness of the printed "substrate" in the screen printing industry.
Steps
1. Place the thickness gauge probe on the zero plate for measurement.
2. Verify that the gauge reading is zero.
3. If the reading is not zero, use the adjustment function of the gauge to calibrate it to "0".
4. After calibrating, use the coating standard plate to verify whether the measurement value of the measuring tool is within the standard tolerance range.
5. For the measurement of sheet material, the material can be placed on the zero plate, and then the Film thickness measurement.
Notice
• Make sure the surface of the zero plate is clean and free of scratches or damage before use.
• When performing zero-point calibrating, it needs to be carried out on the zero plate to ensure that the probe is in good contact with the plate surface.
• After zero adjustment, be sure to use a standard plate with known Film thickness for verification to ensure overall measurement accuracy.
• When placing the material to be tested on the zero plate for measurement, ensure that the material is flat and free of folds or bubbles to obtain accurate readings.
• Zero plates should be kept properly to avoid bumping to maintain the accuracy of their reference plane.
