Overview
The DONGRU DR310 Coating thickness gauge is an integrated eddy current thickness gauge with Probe built in. It uses eddy current thickness measurement method to quickly and non-destructively measure the film thickness of nonconductive coatings (such as paints, powders, plastics, rubbers, etc.) on nonmagnetic metal substrates (such as aluminum, copper, stainless steel). The measurement range is 0 to 1000 microns. The instrument is small and portable, battery powered, suitable for field scenes and other scenarios, and has data storage function.
Features
1. Small integrated design, easy to carry
2. Simple operation and fast test speed
3. Provide continuous test (CONTINUE) and single (SINGLE) two measurement methods
4. With MAX Maximum (MAX), MIN Minimum (MIN), Average (MEA), measurement times four statistical functions
5. Can store 116 measurement data
6. Can be connected to a computer for communication, read out the stored data for saving or printing
7. Support zero point calibrating and two point calibrating two calibrating methods
8. There is a beep in the single measurement mode
9. Automatic identification of ferrous and non-ferrous substrates
10. With low voltage indication function
11. Support manual/automatic shutdown function
Principle
The DONGRU DR310 Coating thickness gauge uses the eddy current thickness measurement method. This method induces eddy current in a nonmagnetic metal substrate through the high-frequency electromagnetic field generated by the instrument Probe. The eddy current effect is affected by the nonconductive coating thickness on the surface of the substrate. By measuring the change of this effect, the instrument can nondestructive calculate the film thickness of the coating.
Applications
Manufacturing, metal processing, chemical industry, commodity inspection
Steps
1. According to the measurement needs, choose the appropriate measurement method (continuous test or single measurement).
2. According to the matrix material and measurement requirements, choose the appropriate calibrating method (zero-point calibrating or two-point calibrating) for instrument calibrating.
3. Probe the instrument vertically and smoothly contact the surface of the coating to be tested for measurement.
4. Read the measurement results displayed on the LCD screen.
5. You can view statistical information (MAX Maximum, MIN Minimum, average, measurement times) or retrieve stored measurement data through the instrument button.
6. For further analysis, you can connect to a computer and read out the stored data through the communication function for saving or printing.
Notice
• This instrument is suitable for the measurement of nonconductive coatings on nonmagnetic metal substrates, do not use on Miscellaneous type substrates or coatings.
• During measurement, Probe needs to contact the measured surface vertically and smoothly to ensure accurate measurement.
• Film thickness of the workpiece under test should not be less than 0.4mm.
• The radius of curvature of the measurement area must meet the requirements: the radius of the convex surface is not less than 5mm, and the radius of the concave surface is not less than 25mm.
• The diameter of the measurement surface in the measured area should not be less than 10mm.
• Please use within the range of Ambient Temperature (0~ 50 ℃) and Humidity (20~ 90% RH) specified by the instrument.
• Pay attention to the battery level, and replace the battery in time when a low voltage indicator appears.
• The instrument has an automatic shutdown function to save power, and can also be shut down manually.
